Competence

Since the introduction of the quarries regulations 1999, it is vitally important that individuals are properly trained and competent within their own areas or areas of operational responsibility.

It is the duty of the operator to be able to demonstrate that sufficient competent persons are employed to operate the quarry and that everyone who works at the quarry is competent to do the job they do, unless it is someone undergoing training and under the direct supervision and control of a competent person.
