Our IQ Academy lunch and learn session for July welcomed Nick Peatling of NIRAC to provide us with an insight into the basis of plant design. With over 35 years’ experience in the quarrying industry, Nick originally apprenticed as a draughtsman, his development has seen him use these skills as a Contracts Engineer and later as an Engineering Director.

For this month’s IQ Academy Lunch and Learn session we were joined by Adam Daniels, Operations Director for Sibelco in the UK and responsible for their Ball Clay, Kaolin, Toll Processing and Industrial Silica Quarries across the country.
Our Lunch and Learn session this month welcomed David Jameson, a Chartered Engineer, Chartered Geologist and member of the IMMM with over 25 years’ international consulting experience in the mining, quarrying and construction sectors.

We were pleased to welcome James Dodds of Envireau Water to present the first in our compelling new series of ‘Lunch and Learn’ webinars. James provided us with an insight into the transitional arrangements and new requirements for abstraction licensing, which came into effect 1st January 2018.
Last week saw the culmination of many of our centenary celebrations with a packed week of activities.
As everyone knows, 2017 sees IQ celebrate its centenary and as we reach the halfway point in the year it is a good time to reflect on activities so far and look forward to the second half of the year.
