The branch held their AGM in the Dunadry Inn and Country Club on Monday 11th April. Following dinner Mr Sam Eccles was elected as Branch Chairman and David Johnson as secretary, Mr Roy Wallace as Vice Chairman.

Sam has 43 years’ experience in the Quarry Industry first with Moore Brothers, then with Wimpey Hobbs and currently with Tarmac. Having started with Moore Bros as a driller, Sam moved up through the ranks with Wimpey Hobbs and Tarmac to now a senior management position in Craigantlet Quarry Co. Down focusing primarily on providing Gritstone Aggregate to England.

David Johnson returning as Branch Secretary is well known in the Institute as Northern Ireland council representative and in his own Business as Health Adviser to the Quarry Industry.

Newly elected Vice Chairman Roy Wallace has been in the explosives industry for over 30 years. Managing Director of Orica BQS, Roy brings a lifetime of experience in Drilling and Blasting to the Branch.
