The Scottish Branch ended the 2015 calendar in December with its annual dinner dance at the Hilton Hotel, Glasgow. There was an excellent turnout with over 400 members and guests planned. Unfortunately the adverse weather cancelled flights from the Western Isles and trains stopping at Preston prevented some guests from attending.
The tombola again proved very successful and many thanks were passed onto all contributing companies, over 200 prizes were received, varying from candles and soap to the famous sack of tatties. The star prize, donated by Finning was a fantastic weekend for two at Seamill hydro with spa treatments included.
Chairman Malcolm Stewart passed on his thanks for continued support of the Institute and branch before introducing Anthony Morgan as the evenings guest speaker.
John McGregor who works for Hanson and past Chairman of the Scottish Branch 2013-2014 was also duly presented with his IQ 40 years’ service medal.
In total, the evening raised £3,980 for charity.
