As the countdown to Hillhead 2018 draws closer, members of the Institute of Quarrying (IQ) are encouraged to introduce a friend or colleague to membership at the IQ stand (RB26) for the chance to walk away with an array of exclusive rewards.
IQ pledged its support to the industry at its ‘Inspiring for Generations’ centenary conference last year, with an ambition to boost membership to over 5,000 by 2021. Members who introduce a friend or colleague to membership on the stand at Hillhead will receive exclusive centenary commemorative items. New members will also receive advice on career progression, as well as a copy of Environmental Management – a long standing, respected reference text that is a valuable resource for anyone in the quarrying industry.
James Thorne, CEO IQ, says: “Hillhead is one of those relatively rare occasions these days where you get to meet people face-to-face. That makes it the perfect platform to talk about the importance of continuing professional development (CPD) and the many benefits of IQ membership.
“As the countdown draws closer, we’d also like to encourage quarry operators large and small, as well as industry bodies and individuals to engage with our #IQHeroes social media campaign. Featuring IQ members, our IQ Heroes, it focuses on what membership means to them and their career progression.”
The IQ stand (RB26) is at the heart of the registration area. As well as rewards for existing members and new members, raffle tickets will also be handed to those who show their membership card to staff, with a range of IQ branded merchandise up for grabs.
IQ is also sponsoring the new online planning tool ‘Engage’. Introduced by Hillhead organisers, it is an easy to use digital planning tool that lets attendees build a wish list of exhibitors to visit and pre-book appointments. This helps to get the maximum CPD value whilst at Hillhead.
With more than 500 exhibitors and thousands of visitors confirmed, Hillhead runs for three days from 26-28 June at Hillhead Quarry, Buxton.
