The Hong Kong Branch was pleased to represent the Institute of Quarrying at the China International Sandstone Technology & Equipment Exhibition 2015, which took place during May earlier this year.

Supported by China Aggregates Association and China Aggregates Net, the exhibition attracted over 7,000 professionals from the aggregates industry and from 20 countries and regions worldwide.

The development of the aggregates industry in China is growing rapidly, which is underpinned by the countries increasing demand for raw materials in its growth. Premier Li Keqiang underlined that China will spare more efforts to environmental management in order to realize sustainable development. Along with China’s legislative improvement, environmental problems and industrial upgrading, the sandstone and aggregate industry are becoming a crucial point for the development of enterprises.

With a 10,000sqm exhibition area, the event currently provides the only professional platform for an aggregates technology and machinery showcase with a one-stop sourcing, brand and product display in China.

Attracting prominent experts from the aggregates industry, visitors gathered for the forum, which set out to promote greater understanding and development of the China aggregates industry and associated businesses.

At the forum, with the theme of “Environmental protection, transformation and upgrading, sustainable development” around 200 eminent scholars, policy researchers, industry leaders and enterprise representatives from China and overseas exchanged ideas on a wide range of topics, including environmental protection, equipment innovation, mine vegetation rehabilitation and economic changes in China.


Many top industry leaders and experts were also in attendance. Among those attending included Xu Xiao’ an (Chairman, Guangzhou Ready Mixed Concrete Association), Ir Lee Kam Fatt (President, Institute of Quarrying Malaysia), Mr Chen Nyet Lin (Honorary Secretary, Institute of Quarrying Malaysia), Li Hua (CEO of China Aggregates Net), Sun Quan (Vice-president of Huangshan Jingpin Construction Aggregates Tech Co. Ltd).
