Student Geologists honoured by Institute of Quarrying

Elysia Hayward - IQ National Student AwardsSeven high achieving and motivated university students studying Geology at universities across the UK have been honoured at the Institute of Quarrying (IQ) National Student Awards.

The second-year geologists of the future were nominated by their respective universities for continuous hard work and passion towards their course, as well as demonstrating strong potential for a successful career in the mineral extractives industry. Each winner receives a certificate acknowledging their achievement, plus two years free student membership of the Institute of Quarrying.

Esme Whitehouse, Bridgnorth, Shropshire, BSc Geology at University of Brighton

Manon Carpenter, Caerphilly, MESci Geology (International) at Cardiff University

Matthew Harris, Nottingham, BSc Geology at University of Leicester

Brett Paterson, Blackburn, BSc Geology at University of Manchester

Sophie Diver, BSc Hons Geology at Plymouth University

ElysiaHayward, Swindon, Wiltshire, BSc Geology at University of Southampton

Aaron Wood, Lichfield, BSc Geology at University of Derby
