5 October 2016 saw the Derbyshire branch return for the fifth annual health & safety conference at the Proact Stadium in Chesterfield. The event began with a welcome introduction from Chair of the Derbyshire Branch, John McGough, followed by a statistics/QNJAC update by Roy Bush.
The Lancashire branch welcomed Dave Collins, 8th November 2016 to provide an evening of information on managing investigations and what companies, Directors, Senior Managers and individuals need to do.
The Derbyshire Branch welcomed Gill Perkins, CEO of the Bumblebee Conservation Trust and Sally Cuckney, Project Development Manager for the Pollinating the Peak project, to the Waterloo Inn at Taddington on Wednesday 19th October.
The second technical meeting of the Yorkshire Branch for the 2016-17 season was held at the usual venue of the Bridge Inn, Wetherby where the branch welcomed Robin Piper of Bell Plant for a talk on the technical improvements to mobile plant.
The Scottish Branch continued its 2016-17 technical evening calendar on Tuesday 11th October at the Stirling Court Hotel. The presentation entitled “A Practical Application of Reg 40” was given by Colin Nottage of Influential Management Group (IMG).
The first technical evening of the season commenced with a strong turnout for ‘Spill Prepared or Ill Prepared?’ Presented in two parts by Mark Neale of Eco Spill Ltd and Mark Stead of Paul Vaines Engineering Services.
The Scottish Branch started its 2016-17 technical evening calendar on Tuesday 13th September at the Stirling Court Hotel.
David Bamber, Alistair Campbell and Hugh Moore of Scania provided the January technical evening for the Scottish Branch, with a presentation covering Diesel Engine Developments. The evening was supported with an excellent turnout of 35 members and guests.
On 8th March 2016, Adrian Wilkinson, Managing Director and UAV Pilot at QuarryDesign gave a highly visual presentation on “Drones, the law and the benefits.
The Derbyshire branch welcomed HSE inspector Richard Noble, who took us on a journey back in time with his presentation ‘Reflections of my Employment with the HSE’.
