Branch Chairman’s Welcome Letter to New Members

Following each membership election Branch Chairmen will receive details of new members within their branch, along with membership certificates where requested. A copy or variation of the suggested letter below should be sent to new members from the appropriate Branch Chairman.

Dear

As Chairman of the… Branch of the Institute of Quarrying I was pleased to learn that you have recently been elected a member and I should like to welcome you to the Institute and as a member of the Branch.

Our activities are centred around monthly meetings, which usually feature speakers on subjects of particular interest to members. During the year, however, our programme also includes social activities such as a well-attended dinner dance, when we are able to raise funds for Institute and other charities.

I feel sure that if you are able to attend branch meetings, you will derive maximum benefit from your membership, as you will come into contact with a range of members associated with the industry.

Our next meeting takes place on … and I should be particularly pleased if you could come along, so that I could welcome you in person and present you with your certificate of membership.

Full details of the next and subsequent meetings of this Branch will be sent to you directly from the Institute’s Nottingham office, but I am enclosing a copy of the branch programme and a map showing the location of our normal meeting place.

Please let me know if you plan to attend the forthcoming meeting so that that I can make a special point of greeting you personally and introducing you to some of your fellow members. I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely,

Chairman
