Branch Programme Booklets
It is understood that branch programme booklets are now being produced by two or three different printers, each to a different size and specification. One advertiser has drawn attention to the fact that the cost of producing colour-separated film for advertisements is disproportionate to the cost of buying the actual space and therefore it would be helpful if the booklets could be produced to a common format.
There would appear to be little to be gained by not trying to work to a common standard and ultimately advertising revenue may be jeopardised if advertisers consider reprographic costs are unjustifiable. Accordingly the specification most commonly used is being recommended as the new standard which is as follows:
- trim size of booklet - 150mm x 85mm
- whole-page advertisement print area - 136mm x 65mm
- half-page advertisement print area - 66mm x 65mm
Materials for mono and spot-colour advertisements:
- positive film, right reading emulsion side down, screen 133, flat artwork or bromide
Materials for full-colour advertisements:
- four colour process - film positives, right-reading emulsion side down, screen 133, with registration marks - Matchprint, Cromalin or other colour-matching proofs requested
Most printers will also accept advertisement copy on disk (or other similar media) - please check individual requirements.
