Membership Rules

Introduction

The structure of the membership grades was simplified in 1999 by a decision of the AGM. The former grades of Associate Member and Affiliate were combined with Member and Associate respectively. The requirement that corporate members should be ‘employed in the quarrying industry’ was also relaxed in favour of ‘employed in the industry’ where ‘industry’ is taken to include specialist companies supplying goods and services to the quarrying industry. The membership is divided into corporate and non-corporate grades. Corporate grades are identified as Fellow and Member and non-corporate grades as Associate and Student. The achievement of a specific grade is dependent upon the fulfilment of requirements based on age, qualifications and experience.
