Reduced Rate Subscription Rules
Reduced-rate subscriptions are payable by members in the following circumstances:
- Following retirement at the age of 55 years or more, and after 10 years in membership
- During periods of unemployment or ill health
- During Maternity/Paternity leave
Procedure
In case of retirement the member should apply in writing to the Assistant Secretary and if the applicant meets the standard criteria the name is included on a list of applicants for approval at the next meeting of Council. Once approval has been granted, the reduced rate (the same rate as that set for Student members) will continue to apply until the member resigns.
In the case of unemployment or ill health the applicant is required to apply in writing, stating that he/she is unemployed, and the application will be presented to the next meeting of Council for approval for the current subscription year. If unemployment or ill health continues into the following year, the applicant must apply again in writing so that the process is repeated.
In both cases Council will wish to satisfy itself that the applicant is not receiving income from consultancy or part-time work.
Honorary Membership
In the case of individuals who reach 40 years in membership, the annual subscription thereafter is automatically waived.
