Description

After the ‘nearly event’ of last year which was thwarted at the last minute by Covid, we are delighted to welcome you back to our grand return of the opening event of our year.

The Annual General Meeting for the West of England Branch will be held at The Double Tree by Hilton, Woodlands Lane, Bradley Stoke North Bristol. This venue has proved to be both convenient to locate and exit the car park. The AGM will commence at 5.30pm prompt in The Redcliffe Room No.1 on Monday, 16th January 2023.

A cash bar, located in the Redcliffe Lobby is available from 6pm with the customary dinner commencing at 6.30pm in the Redcliffe Rooms 2 and 3. This year’s after dinner presentation will be 'Reopening the Portishead line and 'The story so far' by Alan Matthews who is Chair of the Portishead Railway Group.

The ticket cost will be £45.00 per head with a reduced rate of £35.00 for students and retirees. As a welcome back, a prize draw will be included in the price of your ticket with prizes kindly donated by local businesses and members.

During these difficult times the IQ Benevolent Fund has asked Branches to help where they can so we will donating a contribution from the ticket price to this worthy cause. As you are all aware, Covid is here to stay and we have been managing the risk in our work places and at social events. We support and encourage those same measures at this event and would respectfully ask that all persons attending be fully vaccinated and if any symptoms experienced, please do not come to the event.
