PRESENTATION SYNOPSIS Safety Culture, Climate, Leadership and Behaviour in High Hazard Environments (Observations of the Mineral Products Industry and opportunities to learn) John Colley, Head of Health, Safety and Well-being for Breedon Group will provide a talk and presentation on the latest health and safety topics. With a professional career starting in offshore drilling operations John has progressed through the operational and management chain of the oil and gas industry holding various leadership positions within the disciplines of Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environmental Management. His career has included working in remote and challenging locations around the world from Sakhalin Island Russia to Central and Coastal Africa and the Americas. With a career spanning international borders John has gained valuable experience working in a high hazard sector and extremely challenging cultural environments. John has attained various professional and academic qualifications during his career including achieving an MBA through Roberts Gordon University in Aberdeen. Latterly he held the position of Group QHSE Director with the UK’s largest Facilities Management company employing circa 78,000 people. John now holds the position of Head of Health, Safety and Wellbeing for the Breedon Group. John is a former National League Ice Hockey player now holding the position of Independent Non- Executive Director (Commercial) on the Board of Ice Hockey UK and Chair of the Board of Scottish Ice Hockey. Ice Hockey UK and Scottish Ice Hockey are the respective National Governing Bodies for the sport of Ice Hockey.Speaker(s)
