Presentation: National Stone Centre
Synopsis: Miles will present the developments at the National Stone Centre, an educational charity recently acquired by the Institute of Quarrying. As an industry which is always in need of attracting new talent, the NSC provides a public outlet for the sector to inspire future generations to enter the minerals industry. Based on the edge of the Derbyshire Peak District, the site offers huge potential to host public and industry events. Plans for a new learning and visitor centre are due to be submitted this Autumn. The facility will provide learning space, a substantial exhibition area, a café, shop and outdoor activity space.
