Description
Join us for a bike ride or walk along the historic Strawberry Line railway path from Axbridge to Yatton. The path is 90% off road on a smooth gravel surface suitable for most bikes. The ride/walk will consist of three groups to suit all abilities, children must be accompanied by an adult. Each group will head out for 45mins, take a short break at a café, then return back to Axbridge:
• Keen cyclists: Yatton ~17 miles total (av. 11mph)
• Social/family cyclists: Sandford ~ 7.2 miles total (av 4.8 mph)
• Walkers: Strawberry Line to Cheddar and return via Cheddar Reservoir (3.3 miles)
All groups will return to the Oak House in Axbridge where anyone is welcome to stay behind for a drink and catch up with the other groups.
You will need to bring your own bike (please make sure its roadworthy beforehand!) if joining for the ride, and the following items are strongly recommended:
• Helmet
• Puncture repair kit
• Drinks/snacks for 2 hours
• Card or phone with mobile payments (for the cafe)
