Institute of Quarrying Lancashire Branch CPD Day

Building on the success of last year’s CPD day covering Isolation & Entrapment, the Lancashire Branch CPD day this year is driven from the Strategic Forum’s Fatal 6 – Workplace Transport & Pedestrian Interface.
Opening the day will be Mike Tetley, HM Inspector of Quarries, followed by a presentation on Pedestrian Safety with Thor Atkinson. Morning workshops will include Using Technology to avoid incident (Vision Techniques), Simulators and developments in Operator Competence (Tenstar), Road Traffic vehicles and their integration (Hanson Cement) and Mobile Plant Inspections and Observations (IQ Lancashire Branch).
During the workshops a loading shovel, cement tanker, Tenstar Simulator and Vision Techniques demonstration vehicle will be available.
The afternoon presentations include Membership and the Benefits (Institute of Quarrying) and What have we learned and how can we improve? (Rock and Road Training) with the day being brought to a close at 15:00.
