Companies are being invited to sponsor the Institute of Quarrying (IQ) and Institute of Asphalt Technology (IAT) Fellows Lunch and Student Awards 2026, taking place on Friday 6 November 2026 at Symphony Hall, Birmingham.
Hosted by IQ and IAT, the event brings together senior leaders from across the quarrying, mineral products and asphalt industries for a prestigious afternoon of networking, celebration and recognition. The Fellows Lunch and Student Awards also celebrates the outstanding achievements of students from the University of Derby Centre for Mineral Products and Minerals Matter, shining a spotlight on individuals whose talent and commitment mark them as both current and future leaders of the sector.
Following overwhelming feedback from attendees, the event returns to Symphony Hall for a third consecutive year. Set within Birmingham’s Centenary Square, Symphony Hall is widely regarded as one of the world’s finest concert halls and provides an inspiring backdrop for prestigious events.
Sponsoring the event offers companies the opportunity to raise their profile before, during and after one of the sector’s standout annual gatherings. Sponsors will be supported in getting their brand and message in front of delegates attending the event, as well as the wider IQ membership and extended community.
The event programme includes an arrival and drinks reception from 12:00 to 12:45, followed by lunch, Presidential Addresses and awards presentations from 13:00 to 16:30, before the event closes at 17:00.

Main Sponsorship Packages: Benefits include two delegate places, digital branding on screens at the event, acknowledgement in the addresses of both the IQ and IAT Presidents, inclusion in promotional activity, dedicated social media posts and the opportunity to display a roller banner during the event.
Menu Sponsorships: Includes one delegate place, logo placement on the printed A5 card menu, and an embedded QR code linking to a website page or PDF of the sponsor’s choice.
Wine Sponsorships: Includes one delegate place, logo placement on branded wine bottle neck tags and an embedded QR code linking to a website page or PDF of the sponsor’s choice.
The 2026 event will also carry added significance, featuring the public inauguration and first presidential address of Ben Uphill FIQ as President of the Institute of Quarrying, following the presidency of Ben Williams FIQ. It will also feature a presidential address from Dr Helen Bailey FIQ, President of the Institute of Asphalt Technology.
This will mark her second and final address at the event before stepping down as president next year, but her first as Chair of IQ – a unique moment for both institutes.
