Fellows Lunch and Student Awards 2026

We are pleased to announce the return of the Fellows Lunch and Student Awards.

Held in partnership with the Institute of Asphalt Technology (IAT), The Fellows Lunch and Student Awards returns to Symphony Hall, Birmingham.

Situated in Centenary Square, Symphony Hall is considered one of the world's finest concert halls. The iconic venue is home to the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and was originally opened by Queen Elizabeth II in 1991.

About the event

Celebrating the latest achievements within the industry, the event includes an awards ceremony from the IQ, IAT and Minerals Matter, whilst honouring the legacy of those that paved the way.

The event begins at 12 pm and will come to a close at approximately 5 pm.

As well as an awards ceremony, attendees will experience a prestigious event that features networking opportunities with key individuals and members of the industry and a luxury three-course dinner.

The dress code for the event is business attire.

Birmingham’s Frankfurt Christmas Market is a beloved winter tradition, drawing visitors from across the UK and Europe.

Each year, Victoria Square and New Street fill with stalls offering gifts, crafts, and festive treats.

As the largest authentic German Christmas market outside Germany and Austria, it serves up pretzels, schnitzels, bratwursts, roasted almonds, and drinks from glühwein to hot chocolate - a sure sign Christmas is near.

Tickets are priced at £165.00 each (£137.50 + VAT)

Tickets for this exclusive event are limited and are open to Fellows of the Institute and their guests.

If you are an Honorary Fellow (Hon FIQ), you will only need to book on any guests.
