At the very heart of IQ is its regional branch network which is run by passionate volunteers.
IQ branches organise many events throughout the year to bring people together at a local, and sometimes national level, to share knowledge and help members to grow their professional networks.
You can find out more about our branch events on our Events and Webinars page.
CPD is the foundation of lifelong learning and a successful career. However, CPD is much more than just formal training.
It includes informal learning we gain through our daily roles, with everything from reading trade journals and viewing webinars, through to attending conferences and mentoring.
It is the process of expanding your knowledge through any means possible.
CPD recording is encouraged for all members but is mandatory for TMIQ, MIQ and FIQ members, with a minimum requirement of 30 hours per year.
To learn more about CPD and what it means to the IQ, please visit our CPD page.
Part of your membership package includes subscription to Agg-Net's Quarry Management magazine, the official journal of the Institute of Quarrying since 1918.
The monthly magazine is dedicated to the UK aggregates, asphalt, cement, concrete, and recycling markets.
It will keep you updated on industry news and should be read by key decision makers and those wanting aspiring to move on.
Members get access to the Member Portal and IQ Connect App, the member app for access to our services on the go.
As well as advising on how to access and record CPD, we also provide members with plenty of valuable CPD and networking opportunities.
This could be through direct involvement with IQ at local branch level, our governance structures, or any member-led initiatives that we support.
In addition, there are factsheets, webinars, and films free to access on a range of relevant industry topics, as well as local and national events that as a member, can be easily accessed through our dedicated Member Portal or the IQ Connect App (downloadable from the Google Play or Apple store).
You can further enhance your knowledge through our highly regarded industry textbooks, available to purchase through our online shop.
Along with our publications, you can also demonstrate your involvement with IQ through a range of branded promotional merchandise and clothing – items that can help you to demonstrate to others your commitment to the Institute and professional standards.
Being a member of the Institute also provides additional support for you and your family should you need it through the Institute of Quarrying Benevolent Fund.
