Description

The next West of England branch event is a presentation by Richard Nevin of RB First aid. It looks at first aid, rescue arrangements and managing incidents in the quarrying environment. The presentation acknowledges that no matter how good our planning is and how hard we try, accidents do occur from time to time. Richard will go through what legislation says in terms of preparing for these unwanted events, explore what we can do to be prepared, question are we doing enough and are we following the legislation correctly, and discusses a few real life scenarios. There will also be a short training session at the end on how to use an AED safely in a quarrying environment and explain a few areas of its use that may not have been covered on a standard first aid course.
