About this event

The presentation will be delivered by Mike Phillips, CEO of the British Aggregates Association and Chairman of the Yorkshire Branch of the Institute of Quarrying.

The Five C’s are Capacity, Capability, Compliance, Competence and Consistency.

In everyday terms, this means having enough people, time and resources; providing the right tools, systems and information; meeting required standards; developing people’s skills, knowledge and behaviours; and making good practice part of everyday working life.

Originally developed to support improvements in health and safety, the Five C’s have increasingly shown their value in other areas of our sector, including transport operations and planning. The same principles provide a clear framework for making decisions, supporting teams and managing activities effectively.

Our presentation will explore how this approach can help businesses of all sizes put effective leadership into practice.

Whether you are familiar with the Five C’s or hearing about them for the first time, everyone is welcome.

Please join us to learn more, share ideas and explore how these principles can benefit your organisation and our wider industry.
