IQ West of Branch Annual CPD Day

CPD Health & Safety Event

The West of England branch proudly announces its CPD Health & Safety Event - with presentations and demonstrations by established industry professionals.

Walters - 'People, Plant, Interface' A presentation about HME and pedestrian interaction focusing on blind spots and operational safe working areas. The format would be a presentation followed by practical demonstration using two pieces of mobile plant.

REMA Tip Top - Entrapment. A presentation followed by a demonstration of the dangers of entrapment using a purpose-built machine.

Southwest Ambulance. A practical exercise including defibrillator use and resuscitation.

Attendees would be spilt into three groups of 10 who would then be rotated in turn to each of the three presenters' stations with a break for lunch.

The cost would be a nominal £30 + vat

10.00am - Arrival, Registration and Tea/Coffee

(Please arrive no more than 30 minutes before the event is due to start)

10.30am - Start of activities

3 Stations (Walters/REMA/Southwest Ambulance)
Station Location:

Walters - Inside presentation and then outside demonstration

(Full PPE will be required for the outside part of the session - Safety boots,  hi-vis jacket and trousers, hard hat, glasses, gloves)

REMA Tip Top - Inside and practical demonstration

Southwest Ambulance - Inside 

(Three groups of ten attendees, plus a split of committee members at each station) 

Each session is approximately 1hr 15 mins with 10-15 minutes in between to get to the next station. 

Station 1  -   10.30 to 11.45 
Station 2   -   12.00 to 13.15 
Lunch  -   13.15 to 13.45 
Station 3  -  13.45 to 15.00
