Description
Nature After Minerals The Yorkshire Branch invites its members to be involved in a presentation from the RSPB delivered by Catherine Cullen.
We will explore how mineral extraction sites can be transformed into spaces for nature. We’ll look at best practices in quarry restoration — from creating diverse habitats such as wetlands, grasslands, and heathlands - to species conservation, and discuss the importance of ecological connectivity and the wider benefits of biodiversity led restoration.
Catherine Cullen is a Business Adviser for the RSPB, with a geological background in energy and resources, specialising in conservation management and restoration on mineral sites.
