Description

The Yorkshire branch are kicking off their new season's technical programme with a talk on Landfill Tax: Past, Present and Future by Mike Phillips CEO, British Aggregates Association. The UK Landfill Tax has shaped the aggregates and quarrying industry for nearly three decades, driving recycling, reuse, and changes in material flows. But with proposed reforms now under consultation, what does this mean for operators, reprocessors, and the wider construction economy? Join us for a focused technical evening where we will: · Look back at the history of Landfill Tax and its original purpose. · Examine the role of the British Aggregates Association (BAA) in championing members’ interests and leading industry responses. · Explore recent examples of how changes have impacted quarry operations, secondary aggregates, and recycling businesses. · Discuss the road ahead — where reform may take us, and how the industry can shape outcomes. This is a must-attend session for anyone involved in quarrying, recycling, and construction supply chains. Buffet from: 18:00 Presentation: 18:30 prompt
